Get to Know Nina

Meet Nina Mork, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate with a Master's degree in Couples & Family Therapy at Antioch University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington. Nina brings a compassionate, humanistic, and person-centered approach to therapy, helping individuals, couples, families, and adolescents navigate a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, chronic illness, and more.

Nina’s therapeutic toolkit is rich with diverse methodologies including Structural Family Therapy, Satir's Human Growth Model, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She believes in the uniqueness of each therapeutic journey, understanding that change often involves discomfort as old cycles are challenged and new patterns are formed.

A strong advocate for open communication and feedback in therapy, Nina practices with curiosity, self-awareness, and humility. She tailors her approach to meet clients where they are, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust and honesty.

As a visually impaired, female-identifying therapist with roots in both the U.S. and Catalunya, Spain, Nina offers a unique perspective that enriches her practice. She is particularly passionate about working with clients who are navigating disabilities and chronic illnesses, experiencing grief/loss, or undergoing significant life transitions.

Nina’s personal interests are as vibrant and diverse as her professional skills. She enjoys planning birthday parties, attending live music events, engaging in Latin dances like salsa and bachata, and reveling in the great outdoors through hiking and camping. Her previous experience at Match.com humorously served as an informal prelude to her career in therapy, highlighting her natural ability to connect with and support others.

Fluent in English, Catalan, and intermediate Spanish, Nina’s linguistic skills enable her to reach a broader spectrum of clients, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder the therapeutic process.

Nina’s dedication to her clients and her community extends beyond her therapy practice. She has contributed significantly through volunteer work as a meadow rover at Mount Rainier National Park, coaching for Girls on the Run Puget Sound, and assisting at El Centro de la Raza during the COVID pandemic.

Nina Mork combines profound professional knowledge with personal empathy and resilience, making her an invaluable asset to those seeking support and growth through therapy.
