Meet Mona Jones, a passionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, who brings a rich tapestry of professional qualifications and personal experiences to her therapy practice. Mona's academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Washington and a Master's degree in Couple & Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. Her specialized training in trauma counseling and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy enriches her ability to support clients through complex challenges.

Mona's clinical focus spans anxiety, depression, adolescent development, parenting, co-parenting challenges, trauma, grief, loss, and the intricacies of neurodivergent individuals and families. Her therapeutic toolkit includes CBT, TF-CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, allowing her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of her clients.

With a compassionate, reflective style infused with a robust sense of humor, Mona creates a non-judgmental space where clients feel valued and heard. She believes in the transformative power of therapy, facilitated through a strong therapeutic relationship, and is committed to helping her clients view their lives through new lenses to foster meaningful change.

Mona’s personal background as a Chamorro from the island of Saipan deeply informs her culturally competent approach to therapy. As a mom in a blended family and someone who has navigated the challenges of raising neurodivergent children, Mona brings empathy, practical insights, and a deep understanding of relational dynamics to her practice.
Her ideal clients include those experiencing high emotional stress, parents concerned about their children's well-being, adolescents seeking a safe exploration space, and couples striving for harmony. Mona values humor not only as a therapeutic tool to engage and connect with her clients but also as a personal passion, having spent over a decade as a stand-up comedian and emcee.

In her downtime, Mona enjoys testing out new recipes from TikTok, watching comedies like "Bob's Burgers," and listening to humorous podcasts. Her engagement with the community extends to her presentation work, notably using pop culture icons like Taylor Swift to deepen therapeutic experiences, as showcased in her presentation at the WAMFT 2023 Conference.
Mona's approach to therapy, deeply integrated with her humor, cultural sensitivity, and extensive clinical training, makes her an invaluable ally for those seeking to navigate the complexities of life and achieve personal growth and healing.
