Get to Know Krista

Meet Krista Hendrickson, an insightful and empathetic Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate. Krista’s journey in therapy is informed by a rich tapestry of life experiences, from her diverse professional background in various sectors to her personal journey as a breast cancer survivor.

Krista’s approach to therapy is integrative and systemic, utilizing a socioculturally attuned and anti-oppressive framework. She believes in adjusting interactional patterns to bring positive changes in relationships. Krista draws from a variety of theories, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Bowen Intergenerational Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy. Her practice focuses on self-exploration, personal growth, life transitions, loss and grief, anxiety, and depression, catering to a diverse range of clients including individuals, adolescents, children, families, and couples.

She is particularly passionate about working with adolescents, understanding the crucial impact of this developmental stage and the importance of learning healthy coping strategies early in life. However, Krista believes that it's never too late to learn and adopt these strategies, regardless of age.

Krista’s therapy philosophy is based on the belief that change occurs as we learn more about ourselves, why we do what we do, and discover new ways of being in our relationships. She collaborates closely with her clients, respecting their expertise in their own lives and uncovering together what is best for them.

Beyond her professional life, Krista maintains a balanced lifestyle through spending time with family, friends, and her cat, Gracie. She enjoys dancing, listening to live music, and watching sporting events. Always eager to try new things, Krista's zest for life and continual learning is a testament to her dynamic personality.

Her community involvement extends to volunteering with organizations such as Seattle Pride, LifeWire, FareStart, and Birthday Dreams, and she has served as a Peer Mentor at Antioch University Seattle.

Krista's diverse background, compassionate approach, and dedication to helping others grow and evolve make her an invaluable addition to our team.
