Get to Know Kelsey
Meet Kelsey Lucido, an insightful and dedicated Masters Student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seattle Pacific University, with a rich educational background that includes a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and dual BA degrees in Political Science and Theology from Seattle Pacific University. Kelsey’s academic journey is complemented by her certification in Women and Gender Studies, shaping her inclusive and empathetic approach to therapy.

Kelsey specializes in addressing a range of issues including religious and spiritual trauma, grief, self-esteem, trauma, couples' dynamics, women's issues, and exploration of sex and sexuality. Her therapeutic toolkit is diverse, incorporating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, somatic therapy, and attachment theory, allowing her to cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples (hetero, queer, polycules), families, and adolescents.

Her approach to therapy is humanistic and client-centered, focused on creating a holistic, strengths-based, and resiliency-focused environment. Kelsey is HAES-affirming, sex-positive, gender-affirming, and trauma-informed, ensuring a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients are empowered to explore their identities and experiences. She believes in the power of showing up, embracing self-expertise, and engaging openly and curiously with oneself and the world.

Kelsey's identity as a Christian, Humanist, and spiritual zillenial, combined with her deep empathy for those navigating family origins, self-esteem issues, and deep trauma, enriches her therapeutic practice. She is particularly drawn to working with emerging adults, adolescents, couples seeking deeper connections, high-achievers, survivors of sexual violence, and individuals exploring or deconstructing religious beliefs.

Outside the therapy room, Kelsey is passionate about water sports like paddleboarding and swimming, enjoys cooking vegan meals, teaches indoor spin classes, and stays culturally engaged through pop culture exploration. She is an active community volunteer, involved with organizations addressing homelessness, supporting foster families, and participating in social activism within Seattle.

Kelsey's professional and personal pursuits reflect her commitment to fostering holistic healing, personal growth, and social justice, making her a compassionate and dynamic clinician ready to support her clients through their therapeutic journeys.
